Mauritius: Broadband competitiveness in the Indian Ocean Commission Islands

The objective of this assignment was a  Feasibility Study for improving the digital broadband offer and competitiveness in the IOC member states. In order to achieve this goalthe study will assess the infrastructure and policy measures which are required in the short, medium and long term in order to remove the barriers to open access and reduce the costs of broadband offer. The three experts undertook field missions to the island-states in the region in order to assess the political and infrastructural situation in each of them. Based on their findings, response scenarios are going to be developed and the best adequate option will be assessed. In order to maximise the impact, synergies have been established with other relevant donors and projects in the area
