Bosnia and Herzegovina: Support to the Brcko District in the EU Integration process

The global objective of the project was to strengthen the capacities of the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU integration process of BiH. The project supported the BDBiHin defining the roles and priorities in the legal harmonisation of BDBiH legislation with EU acquis in accordance with BDBiH jurisdiction. The project supported in improving coordination in EU affairs between public administration bodies of the BDBiH and State institutions and improving capacity of the Office for European Integration and other public administration bodies in BDBiH to deal with EU affairs according to the BDBiH jurisdiction. Preparation of a report outlining the competences, current legislative practices, and areas and EU Directives where BD might have to assume EU acquis transposition role, the institutional gaps including specifications for a future legislation harmonisation database; plan for deployment of TAIEX assistance, recommendations for effective BD participation in the IPA programming exercise.
